Killybegs Harbourmaster’s Office
Killybegs, Co. Donegal
Working alongside Kirk McClure and Morton Civil Engineers, who designed the elements of the civil work of the project, Hamilton Young were engaged to design all the buildings associated with the operation of a new harbour facility, including a boat repair building, various cargo and harbour buildings, and a main harbour office building to accommodate offices for the Sea Fisheries Protection Agency, B.I.M., Marine Institute, Customs & Excise and Harbour Master’s office and control tower.
The designs for these landmark buildings took cognisance of the extreme maritime conditions in terms of detailing and material selection, which have stood the test of time.
