Sports Hall at Alexandra College
Sports Hall at Alexandra College
HYA designed and oversaw the construction of a new multi-purpose sports hall, over a basement containing four changing rooms and showers, toilets, storerooms, and a boiler house.
The ground floor provides a 600 sq.m. Sports Hall complete with a 364 person retractable seating system, an office, storage, and entrance lobby, while the first floor has a viewing gallery. The building is fully accessible with 2 stair cores and a passenger lift.
The building is attractively clad with terracotta rainscreen cladding and full height curtain walling with an eye catching curved metal roof.
The building is situated on a confined site between a new all-weather hockey pitch and the LUAS Green Line, and required a TFI Work Permit due to the proximity of the high voltage overhead cabling and the construction of a basement adjacent to the track.
